fulfilling week

paul baloche was good good good!!!

jamming on monday was quite stressful cuz yijie and i had to follow the electric guitar. and a total of 3 drum students were reduced to 2 as kaiwei wasn't feelin too good. hope that she'll join us soon ya. juz feels weird without anyone of them. suppose to celebrate jieying's belated bdae but my mum came to fetch me. so i missed it. well.

wednesday was awesome cuz a few of the church ppl went to faith methodist church for this workshop and concert by paul baloche! i feels so good to just stand there for hours to worship Him. had an unplanned and rather short talk with yijie, but it was nice as it's been ages since we really talk. its so nice to be able to juz sit down and talk to ppl whom u've not been updated with for donkey years. i gave thanks for the opportunity and am learning to appreciate and care more for ppl. cross my fingers and hope.

yesterday was the canvassing job at mt faber. i was the only one late. panicked on the way in dorcas' car as i still had to take cab from the place where they will drop me off. as time ticked by, my heartbeat increases. SHIT. i'm gonna be so dead. in the end, they drove me all da way up. thanks ya! the gang of NTU ppl working was rather huge. it was actually quite fun less the walkin around in heels for 6 hours with blisters all around. after that, most of the gurls couldn't take it and we took off our heels and laze around at the resting area. totally unglam. but dun care! went to sze's place after that. talked a lil' and we slept, intending to wake up at 5 plus to buy ingredients for breakie delivery to siling's place, but we failed. by the time i woke up, its time for work. hurried off to work. hope to have more time to catch up with her before she leaves for aussie again. really missed those times in secondary sch when we cooked and did funny things in the middle of nights.

must treasure your friends while you can ya. that's my resolution for the year as i realised i've always taken them for granted some way or another.

oh and christie's back. hopefully we'll meet up tog with the ORPC '85 ppl whom i grew up with in sunday sch.

my most meaningful sunday after service

it's been ages since i stayed out for so long after sunday services. usually we'll all have lunch and go home or be occupied with our own programmes neglecting the ppl in church.

yesterday was one of the few times seeing so many ppl sitting around at JE's foodcourt. kinda miss the times when all of us are not so busy havin the time to hang around and play with one another or just share deeper with one another.

it was meaningful cuz i spent my whole sunday with church ppl.which was usually rare. and i managed to share with zoey, or rather hear her share bout her life. it was for once so real that i was her "da jie" and her being my "xiaoxiaomei". usually in church we'll talk a lil' and appear to be quite close, but in fact we're not. we dun even call each other or msg each other during the week but i'm really thankful that she's willing to share with me and not see me as a stranger.
hope that this closeness will not fade but last as long as we live. like wat pr chua said, may we seek to move up our level of communication maybe from so so friends to good friends or from good friends to friends who will support one another in their lives. its not only zoey that i'm thankful for. i'm really glad that kaiwei is opening herself more too. i'm really happy to see the cheerful and funny side of her in fellowship again and to see her enjoying fellowship more and more.

watched just my luck with michael and yixiang at bishan after that. weird weird weird right? weird combi, weird place to watch movie...but well. it din turn out that bad ya.

the show wasn't really fantastic, but the 3 of us agreed unanimously to one thing - mcfly's songs are actually quite nice. its really weird again cuz most of us use to have their songs, but somehow they din apppeal to us and off they go from our mp3s. and now! they're gonna be back. this is just so ironical. nevermind.

oh i just bought this itrip thing which cost me like 79 bucks. ouch. ts for me to play my ipod in the car. cool right. but bet i wun have a chance to use it till weekends. sigh. and actually that was the reason why the 3 of us ended up at bishan. ha.

daily dosage of my life

been so lazy and busy to update.

last fri till sun was YF camp at some ulu corner near the home team academy at choa chu kang. it totally don't feel like any normal church camp. we had too much free time to spare. walking aimlessly in the house durin those times or juz bumming around, watching ppl play pool or xbox. sounds exactly like wat you do in chalets right? well. though we had lotsa free time, we also had quality time spent on sermons and workshop. it was beneficial. at least for me. night time was total freedom. no daoshis, no packed programmes layed out for us, so kaiwei and michael drove us out for spins and suppers.

sunday was father's day, but i missed the chance of celebrating with daddy as they went malaysia with their church with my lil' niece and maid. freedom again till wed, but its all the same, with or without them around cuz i was so packed this week, so not much time spent at home.

mondayvwas first day at work! at shuqing's office. its kinda hard to explain the nature of my job, so lets just put it simply-designing. this is the 2nd time i'm working in my entire life. BUT that doesn't make me a spoilt brat ya! as compared to the first job i did, i enjoy what i'm doin this time round. i don't have to dread the long hours of sitting in the office waiting for 6 o'clock to come. i just have enough things to do to keep me occupied till the very last minute.
jamming at alvron studio with the gang after work. there were more ppl than usual as we have weipeng and wenjin joining us. its really enjoyable hanging around with them. its out of the usual gang i only hang around with in church the last time. its always good to hang out with diff groups of ppl. so i am sociable. neh. still workin on that. ha.

tuesday was suppose to be guitar class day, but as i wanted to watch cars badly, we cancelled guitar class for movie at lot one with yijie, yile, zhiteng, wenjun, liying and weipeng. its been ages since i stepped into the cinema at lot one. we were all reminded of our sunday services held there years ago. so missed it. cars' nice.

wednesday was theme park rehearsal day. full dress. many din turn up, but the rest looked really erm...cute? in their costumes. ha. tired

thursday was suppose to be guitar class (postponed from tues) but i couldn't make it as i had to meet the gurls, sze en and siling to chill. drove them to bukit panjang plaza for swensen's regular earthquake and fries.
we headed to chew's optics for our lenses and glasses after that. sze got a pair of red plastic specs. i was so tempted to get it too, thou i juz did my purplish black one. we're gonna look hilarious if all 3 of us wear our plastic specs out tog. siling's white, sze's red, mine's purplish black.

friday which is today, will be having worship prac after work. will be goin earlier to "jam" with yixiang first! yay! that's all folks.

random

online diaries is a place where ppl express their feelings, share about the stuffs goin on in their lives...

its a love-hate feeling i have for it. its really nice to read interesting events your friends are goin thru' but it totally suck when u read about the downs of ppl or the grudges ppl bear against ppl. sad. i'm starting to feel the imperfection of this world more and more and impression doesn't count until you really know the person's "deepest secret". thru'out the years, i've learnt not to judge ppl as much as i could. there are ppl whom you think they're the most perfect/blameless creature in this world but they're mere humans. everyone has sins. its from birth. its something we can't deny.

i hate to see ppl judging and ppl being judged for who they're not (not sayin that i dun judge sometimes).

i'm disappointed by alot of things recently. mostly ppl. i feel that we are all inconsiderate human beings, only thinkin of OURSELVES and nothing else. as long as we're comfortable, anything goes. it totally suck to see these although i've lots to learn in this area. we shld learn to treasure everyone that we have around us and not JUDGE them, but we're really a bunch of weird ppl cuz we only start to treasure something when we're losing it or we lost it. why? we always take things for granted, take friends for granted, take family members for granted, take ppl who care for us for granted. are we gonna really treasure them and appreciate them only when they're gone? isn't it all too late?

i'm really sorry for the random entry. dun really know how to sort them out. just typing what comes into my head. oh and i'm not like havin some problem or depression or anything. its just this sudden urge to express watever that came to me after reading some ppl's online diary.

music classes

thurs was guitar class for me and ling. but i wasn't really attentive cuz yixiang, our "shifu" (sounds so ermm), is teaching ling all da basics which i've learnt most of it b4. so i was like the proud student tryin to show off her skills but totally cannot make it and the destructive student distracting them time and again.

friday was drums class at jiwei's place. i see it more like a meet up session once a week to explore the instruments. he has guitar, keyboard and drum set in his room la. how cool. how i wish i have that too. he added some pad (dun really know wat's the term for it) and the sound was totally awful cuz i can't really hear the beats. anyway, i found out that he's quite talented ya. played a song by martin/mark taylor (watever the name) on da guitar (without any guitar background) and a super nice version of twinkle twinkle little star on da keyboard by just listening to it. he is a motivation for me to not give up on my piano (to take my grade 8 again). afterwhich was worship prac in church.

and guess wat! i got my 1st summon at jiwei's place for exceeding the parking time. argh. all thanks to yixiang's foul mouth haha.

dunno why i'm learning all da instruments at one go, but i enjoy them. lotsa practising ya.

scary virus

everyone in my household's falling sick. even the strongest woman, our maid is seriously ill. wat's goin on man?

the only 3 man standing are mummy, bro-in-law and me.

daddy and sis is running on high fever, puked and immobile on da bed.

yuxuan kept crying when she needed to pee and poo. there was blood in her urine. =( so poor thing!! she was hospitalised yesterday.

poor mummy. she has to attend to soooo many ppl and she has work to do. Dear God, I pray that you'll give her strength and the energy thru all these. she must not fall ill as she's like the pillar of the house now!

since i'm the last few man standing, i have to help take care of the rest. its really energy draining to run here and there to attend to them. mummy's da best! she's always the person who gives and ask just for our well-being and nothing else in return. no matter how tired she is, she never fail to take care of us. let's learn to appreciate our mums ya although many times they're really nagging and a pain in the neck, its all for our own good!

eventful global day of prayer

finally revamped blog. simple. its the content that truly matters ya?!

well. shall backtrack alil'.

4th june 2006 was a remarkable day. it was the global day of prayer. ie christians from the world gather in their country, including Singapore to pray.
many were gathered at the national stadium to grace this meaningful event.
my church was there too.

kaiwei and i were reluctant to travel all da way there initially, but we were thankful we went afterall. it was really awesome seeing everyone, leaving all our differences behind and worshipping our Father in heaven in one voice. i was truly touched by it.

after the long string of events, finally gotta take some rest in my super duper comfortable bed. BUT...the day did not end just there.

at bout 4am, kaiwei came to pick me up and we headed to the airport to see wenjun, yijie, michel, jansen and weiyang off to nan-ning for a short mission trip. (lets keep them in our prayer ya?!)

jamming at alvron studio with da jamming co., jieying, kaiwei, yixiang and jiancong, although our shifu, michel's not around. a pat on da shoulder for jieying cuz she managed to play give them all on da guitar! as for me...i'm not improving at all. drums-an instrument which i doubt i'll strive in but still, its for da fun ya.

disneyland hongkong!

day 3

finally joined sis and co for some fun. goin to disney reminds me of childhood, playing with all da plush toys and stuff. we stayed in the disneyland hollywood hotel. basically there weren't much things to play, but i was really excited cuz i getta see my fav character-pooh!! took lotsa photos!

some family photo

xuan hugging pooh pooh! or rather pooh pooh huggin her! so sweet right?

watched the parade too. it was so nice. seeing all da plush toys u use to have in sizes bigger than yourself! =)
stayed till bout 8 to watch the fireworks. was really nice!! woah!!

went back to hotel for a hearty dinner at bout 9 plus. sleep.

day 4

woke up at 10 plus. din manage to go to disney early as it was drizzling. as we went there late, we left the place for our flight late too. almost miss the flight. it was like rush hours man! well, but phew! we got back safe and sound and on the right time!

buy things-eat things...hong kong!

juz went to hongkong last last week with my sis, bro-in-law and niece from 24th till 27th may.
a rather short trip but enjoyable.

Day 1

Headed for the airport at bout 7 o’clock with my family. It was a long journey to da east.
As we were taking tigerairways, checking in wasn’t at the 2 terminals at change airport but some ulu terminal called the budget terminal. Budget indeed. The interior was rather pathetic…the check-in counters and a Han’s café. That’s it! Oh wells, whatever it is, its comfy of the plane that matters ya. This was the first time taking budget airline. A whole new experience indeed. For the first time, I had to literally board the plane and not thru the tunnel-like thing and i had to “snatch” for seats as its free seating. Because of my niece, yuxuan, we were priviledged to board the plane first, and as such, we managed to get a better and more spacious seat.

After 3 hours of plane ride, we finally arrived at the airport at macau.
The journey to our destination does not end here. We had to take a cab from the airport to the ferry terminal and subsequently a ferry (turbojet) to Hong Kong. The whole journey totally suck as we had lotsa luggage and an infant who needs to be carried around with us.
Finally!! Reached Hong Kong ferry terminal at sheung wan. The whole place was totally messy. We took quite awhile to find the luggage deposit place and the mtr station to go to our “shopping paradise”. Ever wonder what does mtr stands for?

At last, I met up with the guys (Harn, Gwen and Jiwei) who reached a day earlier than me at the Causeway Bay mtr station.
Our dearest Gwen went berserk when approaching her “ou xiang’s” shop at Paterson Street. She grabbed all of us tightly and seemed like she’s suffering from hyperventilation. Actually Edison Chen’s shop did not catch my attention cuz I dun really fancy the kinda stuffs sold there, but the ambience was rather good with simple and nice deco. Started my shopping frenzy after that at one of the malls. The prices were really steep for such nothing out of the ordinary goods. Got nothing in the end.

We were all tired from all da walking and decided to head to Grand Hyatt Hotel for our long awaited dessert buffet.

Sounds really cool right, but we got sick of the sweet stuff very soon. Too much sugar!!

Proceeded back to the guys’ Marco Polo Hotel at Tsim Sha Tsui. Bushed!

Day 2

Woke up kinda late. At bout 10 plus. Left the hotel for some porridge and noodles at a small café. We were the only tourists there as it’s a place where no tourist would have known, but all thanks to Gwen and her “wu ling mi ji” with all da eatery places in Hong Kong. She really did research on all these before da trip man!

After our super late brunch at 12 odd, we headed to HMV at central. That was the first stop and the last for Jiwei. *evil grin* He bought quite a lot of CDs he can’t find in Singapore, so it was kinda like the shopping paradise for him. Basically, we walked a lot thru’out the trip. No wonder ppl in HK are generally not fat. Went to some malls at Wan Chai and I finally bought something!

We were all exhausted from the walking under the hot sun and decided to settle at some coffee place before meeting with Gwen’s cousin for dinner.

We dined at this Corner Restaurant at Lam Gui Fong.

The appetizer was the best part of the meal…broccoli with melted cheese. Yum yum! The portion of the main was really big. Good thing I shared with Harn.

Gwen’s cousin introduced us to this pub “one fifth grill” at Star Street. Its really cool cuz it’s a pub where ppl dance salsa. You have to know the basics before you can go onto the dance floor as the ppl there danced really well. The four of us managed to learn a lil’ from Gwen’s cousin’s friend. Fun and energy consuming!
Exhausted. Headed back to da hotel by cabbie to rest! photo whoring again!

Day 3

Woke up late again, as usual. Wanted to eat dim sum very much and we headed for this restaurant recommended by Gwen’s cousin, but we didn’t manage to find it.

Settled on any dim sum restaurant "yu shan fang" for lunch.
After which I had to rush to the Disneyland Resort to meet my sis and co. therefore, I left the guys earlier. On da way there was really scary cuz an oncoming guy (blacks) approached me and asked “how’re you”. I ignored and walked on, but to my surprise, he followed me to the train station and asked the same question again! i fastened my pace all da way to the train station at Jordan and hop on to da train as soon as it reaches. Phew! Finally shook da scary guy off.

Da train journey to Sunny Bay then to Disney Resort didn’t take me long. The transit train from Sunny Bay to Disney Resort was really nice as it was a Disney Train! The windows were shaped like Mickey and the handles too! The interior was very nice and comfortable too. Cushioned seats and Disney characters around in da train.
